We lament the tragic violence in Tumbler Ridge, and we hold in prayer the families, loved ones, and the whole community now living with shock, trauma, and profound loss. With deep compassion, we offer our prayers.
During worship on February 15, West Point Grey United Church set aside a special time to stand with the people of Tumbler Ridge. We shared prayers and reflections, and we held a simple ritual of releasing a stone as a sign of placing our grief, sorrow, and fear into God’s care. We also prepared a condolence card to send as a community.
We offer these small gestures as signs of faithful, compassionate presence and sincere solidarity.
Hold the grieving in your mercy.
Hold the wounded in your care.
Hold us all in your peace.
