DESCRIPTION:Come join us for our Good Friday Tenebrae service.\nFriday\, April 3\, 2026\, 10:30 am – 11:30 am\nWest Point Grey United Church\n4595 West 8th Ave\, Vancouver\nEnter into the quiet and depth of Good Friday through a moving Tenebrae (“service of shadows”) worship experience. \nIn this contemplative service\, we will journey with Christ through his final hours\, listening to the Seven Last Words from the Cross through scripture\, reflective monologues\, prayer\, and music. As candles are gradually extinguished\, the sanctuary will darken\, inviting us to dwell in the mystery of suffering\, love\, and grace. \nThis year’s service weaves together voices from the Gospel story—those who stood near the cross—offering us a deeply human and spiritual encounter with the passion of Christ. \nWe gather not to rush toward Easter\,\nbut to remain at the cross—\nto listen\, to reflect\, and to pray. \nThe service will include: \n\nScripture readings (in multiple languages)\nReflective monologues from biblical witnesses\nPrayers and moments of silence\nHymns from Voices United and More Voices\nA gradual dimming of light in Tenebrae tradition\n\nAll are welcome to this sacred time of reflection. \nPlease note:\nThe congregation is invited to depart in silence.
