The Lunar New Year Committee Members being thanked by Elizabeth Tait, chair of council.
The Lunar New Year celebration held on Sunday, February 4th from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm was truly wonderful. It was an intercultural event that the Lunar New Year Committee worked so hard on to make it a success. The food was prepared by volunteer chefs and was delicious. The entertainment programs were diverse and creative. There was so much fun and laughter in the games and beauty in the dances. Two Chinese poems were recited by six English-speaking individuals reciting the poems in Chinese and they did an outstanding job. The ESL choir sang “Hallelujah” by Leonard Cohen in English, and their performance was inspiring. The elegant MCs kept the events organized and flowing smoothly. We are so grateful to the volunteers who made this event a success. All the members of the congregation who came and our guests spent a wonderful time together celebrating the Year of the Dragon.
